The Word Herder is a hit!
What better way to celebrate a sunny summer than getting out and about with our creative writing walks? Chrissie Petrie - The Word Herder is our leader, helping absolute beginners find their creative writing inspiration in a series of walks around Teesside. Every walk starts outside a different library branch, lasts 2 hours, and is free and open to everyone.
Some of the walk participants have been donating their poems and photographs to help us make these great social media slides. After a wet start to the project, we're beginning to get some beautiful sunny shots coming through!
Remaining walks are
Tuesday 27 July, 2pm at Ingleby Barwick Library & nature pond
Tuesday 3 August, 11am at Billingham Library
Tuesday 10 August, 2pm at Yarm Library
You can book your place by calling Stockton Libraries on 01642 526 521 or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
From Tuesday 17 August, we will continue the walk-and-write format for another five weeks, but with all sessions starting and ending at ARC Stockton. Bookings for those sessions can be made via ARC's website, and will still be absolutely free!
"It was good to do something completely different. Chrissie is lovely! I don't think of myself as being a creative person, but she got us to look at things differently and I could feel my mind behaving in a new way. The yew trees looked like green flames at the tips, where there was new growth - I would never have thought that before, or stopped to notice it!" - Brenda, participant on our Norton walk
